Abu Dhabi’s Shorooq and Presight have invested in a $100M Series A round for Maven Robotics, as the US-based startup scales its AI-powered robots for logistics and manufacturing. The investment marks a significant step in the company's growth within the physical-AI sector.
Maven Robotics Funding Details
Shorooq and Presight invested through the Presight–Shorooq AI and Bedaya funds managed by Shorooq, alongside RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures, and XTX Ventures. The two Abu Dhabi investors did not disclose the specific financial terms of their contribution.

Founded in 2024 and based in Santa Clara, California, Maven develops autonomous robots for industrial environments. Its first applications are mixed-case palletizing and tote handling, which the company estimates represent an $80 billion addressable market.
Industrial AI Capabilities
Maven claims its robots can operate for up to 16 hours a day at customer sites, maintaining a reliability rate above 99%.
The new funding will support the production of 250 third-generation robots and the development of a fourth-generation system. The company also plans to expand from palletizing and tote handling into broader materials-handling tasks.
This move positions the startup within the growing physical-AI segment, where software intelligence is built directly into machines that operate in real-world environments.

Strategic Investment Goals
Bilal Baloch, partner at Shorooq, stated that the investment reflects the firm's interest in AI companies solving practical industrial problems rather than focusing solely on research benchmarks.
“The first wave of AI reshaped how we work with information; the next will reshape how the physical economy runs, and that is a far larger prize. What sets Maven apart is that Hamza and his team are not chasing a research benchmark; they are solving one industrial problem at a time.” Bilal Baloch, Partner, Shorooq
The investment also provides Maven with access to a partnership between Shorooq and Presight that extends beyond capital. Presight, an applied AI company and G42 subsidiary, provides expertise in compute, data, and enterprise relationships.
Scaling Global Operations
Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, noted that Maven fits the company's focus on applying AI to operational problems with measurable real-world outcomes. Through the Presight–Shorooq Fund I, they aim to support companies with capital and technical infrastructure.
For Maven, the deal provides essential relationships as it transitions from early deployments toward larger-scale manufacturing. CEO Hamza Derbas emphasized that the focus remains on solving industrial labor challenges.
“We're not in the race to build the biggest model; we're in the race to solve industrial labour. Shorooq and Presight bring an ecosystem and enterprise relationships that help us deploy faster,” said Hamza Derbas, CEO and Co-founder of Maven Robotics.
The investment follows the launch of the Presight–Shorooq Fund I, a $100 million global AI investment vehicle announced in September 2025. The fund is designed to bridge international AI companies with the UAE's AI infrastructure.
