Salam, Nutanix Partner for Private Cloud Infrastructure

Saudi telecommunications provider Etihad Salam Telecom Company (Salam) has partnered with Nutanix to deliver private cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) to enterprise customers across Saudi Arabia.

The three-year managed service partnership will combine Salam’s telecommunications network and knowledge of the Saudi market with Nutanix’s cloud technology. This gives businesses access to infrastructure designed to support IT modernization while maintaining greater control over their data and systems.

The memorandum of understanding was announced in connection with LEAP 2026, where Salam participated as a strategic sponsor.

Expanding Private Cloud Infrastructure in Saudi Arabia

Under the partnership, Salam will offer private cloud infrastructure as a managed service to its B2B customers. The offering is designed for organizations seeking more flexible and scalable IT infrastructure without giving up the security and control associated with private cloud environments.

Salam will bring its local market expertise and telecommunications infrastructure, while Nutanix will provide the underlying cloud technology. The companies said the combination will support enterprises as they modernize their IT environments and adopt new digital technologies.

The partnership comes as Saudi businesses increasingly look for cloud infrastructure that can support digital transformation. It directly addresses growing regional requirements around security, scalability and control.

Strategic Cloud Growth for Enterprises

For Nutanix, the agreement extends its capabilities through a local telecommunications and managed-services provider. Nutanix has been positioning private cloud and managed services as part of its broader hybrid multicloud strategy.

At LEAP 2026, the company highlighted private clouds, hybrid cloud infrastructure and sovereign digital infrastructure among its offerings for organizations in Saudi Arabia and the wider region.

Talal Al-Saif, Regional Director for Saudi Arabia at Nutanix, said the partnership would help bring the company's private cloud capabilities to businesses across the Kingdom. Abdullah Khorami, Chief Business Officer at Salam, added that the collaboration delivers infrastructure focused on performance, security and scalability.

Driving Saudi Digital Transformation

The partnership aligns with Saudi Arabia's broader push to expand domestic digital infrastructure and accelerate enterprise technology adoption. Private cloud remains particularly relevant for organizations that need greater control over their computing environments.

The agreement also adds to Nutanix's growing activity in Saudi Arabia. During LEAP 2026, the company separately signed an MoU with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to support hybrid cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity.

For Salam, the partnership expands its enterprise technology portfolio beyond connectivity into managed cloud infrastructure. As the three-year partnership rolls out, its success will depend on how broadly Saudi businesses adopt these private cloud solutions as part of their digital transformation strategies.
