QFC, QFCRA releases 2024 Digital Assets Framework

On Sunday, 1st September, The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Authority and Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) rolled out the new QFC Digital Assets Framework 2024 in line with the Qatar Central Bank’s Third Financial Sector Strategy.

The framework, which aims to establish a comprehensive legal and regulatory foundation for digital assets within the QFC, addressed key areas such as tokenization, smart contracts, and digital asset custody.

According to the Head of Regulatory Affairs at QFCA, Maha Al-Saadi, the package published includes the following:

1. Digital Asset Regulations
2. Investment Token Rules 2024
3. Revised Non-Regulated Activities Rules
4. User Guide
5. Guidelines
