Lendo and Quantic Launch $200M SME Financing Saudi Arabia
Tribe Techie

Saudi fintech Lendo has partnered with Austria-based Quantic Financial Solutions to launch an institutional program of up to $200 million to drive SME financing in Saudi Arabia. This initiative aims to provide vital working capital to small and medium-sized businesses across the Kingdom.

Expanding SME Financing in Saudi Arabia

Announced at Money20/20 Middle East in Riyadh, the program brings institutional capital into Lendo’s Shariah-compliant debt crowdfunding platform. This move significantly expands the financing capacity available to Saudi SMEs. Under the agreement, Quantic will invest up to SAR 750 million specifically dedicated to working capital needs.

Quantic, headquartered in Vienna and a member of the C-Quadrat Investment Group, will oversee capital deployment. They will also structure Shariah-compliant investment products for international investors. This structure provides a clear path for global institutional capital to reach Saudi businesses through a locally regulated platform.

Lendo's Role in the Kingdom

Lendo operates as a Shariah-compliant debt crowdfunding marketplace under the supervision of the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA). Founded in 2019 by Osama AlRaee and Mohammed Jawabri, the platform connects institutional and retail investors with businesses seeking capital.

Upgrade

The company plans to use the new program to bridge the SME funding gap. This partnership arrives shortly after Lendo surpassed SAR 5 billion in total financing. It highlights the growing scale of the company’s activity within the region.

Investment Strategy and Market Impact

For Quantic, the deal provides exposure to the Saudi market while allowing them to develop unique investment products. The model creates a repeatable route for international investors seeking private credit in the Kingdom without needing to originate the loans themselves.

Lendo CEO Osama AlRaee described the agreement as a major milestone. He noted that the partnership provides greater scale and structuring capacity as demand grows. Dr. Dietrich Matthes of Quantic emphasized that their focus remains on disciplined capital deployment to support business growth.

Why it matters to MENA Startups

The deal shows how MENA's fintech market is moving beyond consumer payments into institutional financing infrastructure. For Saudi startups, the significance lies in having a larger institutional funding pool to access necessary working capital.

It also points to a growing role for regulated fintech platforms as a bridge between international capital and underserved segments of the regional economy. This trend is a key part of the broader financial-sector development agenda currently shaping the Kingdom.
