No decision has been finalized, and the discussions do not indicate that a transaction is imminent. Strategic Shifts for Advanced AI Chips
According to Bloomberg, G42 executives have held exploratory discussions with potential US companies about taking a majority stake in the Abu Dhabi-based group. Another option under consideration is creating a new US vehicle that could help the company meet requirements associated with continued access to high-performance computing technology.
The discussions are part of G42’s broader effort to align its global expansion with US technology and regulatory requirements. G42 has already developed significant relationships with US technology companies. Its investors include Microsoft and private equity firm Silver Lake, alongside Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Investment Company.
Advanced computing capacity is becoming increasingly important to G42 as it scales its AI infrastructure. The company is involved in the development of the UAE–US AI Campus in Abu Dhabi, a planned 5-gigawatt AI infrastructure hub.
Expanding AI Infrastructure
Its Stargate UAE project, a 1-gigawatt compute cluster within the campus, is being built by G42 with OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco, and SoftBank. NVIDIA is supplying the facility with advanced Grace Blackwell systems.

G42 has also secured US approval for exports of advanced AI semiconductors under the UAE–US AI framework. The company said the authorization will support infrastructure projects including Stargate UAE and its broader AI infrastructure expansion. That makes continued access to hardware strategically important to G42’s ability to execute its infrastructure plans.
G42’s potential restructuring comes against the backdrop of increasingly close technology ties between Abu Dhabi and Washington. The company has positioned itself as a key participant in the UAE–US AI partnership, with projects spanning AI infrastructure, cloud computing, data centers, and advanced computing.
