Egypt and NVIDIA are currently discussing AI skills, research, and startup support as the country advances its 2025–2030 national Egypt AI strategy. Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hendy, met with an NVIDIA delegation led by Paolo Guglielmini, Vice President of EMEA, to explore collaboration in AI development and technical training.

Strengthening the Egypt AI Strategy
The discussions included preparing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that would define the proposed areas of cooperation between the Egyptian government and NVIDIA.
The talks focused on developing specialized technical content covering artificial intelligence, deep learning, and training-of-trainers programs.
The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen the country's pool of AI developers, researchers, and technical professionals.
They aim to support entrepreneurs and startups building technology solutions locally.
Expanding the Local AI Ecosystem
The focus on skills comes as NVIDIA expands its engagement with Egypt’s AI ecosystem. The company reported that its NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute learner base in Egypt grew more than tenfold in a single year.

NVIDIA also highlighted Egyptian startups working in areas including healthcare, cybersecurity, robotics, financial services, and enterprise AI. Guglielmini noted that NVIDIA’s tools and training could help developers turn AI ideas into practical applications for global markets.
Government Initiatives and Infrastructure
During the meeting, Egypt outlined efforts to expand AI adoption across government sectors. This includes programs to build public-sector capabilities and develop specialized technology skills.
Egypt launched its initial national AI strategy in 2019 and is now implementing its second phase, covering 2025–2030. The strategy focuses on expanding AI applications and strengthening research and innovation capabilities.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology also highlighted the role of Egypt Digital Innovation Centers. These centers support technology skills development and entrepreneurship across the country.
These efforts are taking place alongside a growing AI infrastructure push. NVIDIA confirmed that Egypt is among several African markets where AI computing capacity is expanding.
