Cyfr Capital Backs 5 Omani Startups in New Seed Deals
Oman’s Cyfr Capital backs five startups in automotive, food delivery, tourism, AI and packaging through its Seed Fund with Future Fund Oman. · Tribe Techie

Oman’s Cyfr Capital is actively backing Omani startups to drive growth in the local tech ecosystem. They have invested in five companies across the automotive, food delivery, tourism, AI, and packaging sectors through a Seed Fund partnership with Future Fund Oman.

The investments were made in collaboration with Future Fund Oman and target early-stage companies developing products and services for the Omani market, with potential to expand regionally.

The five startups are Sooq Cars, iO Eats, Darrbak, Decoil and Pack’N.

Cyfr Capital said the investments form part of its broader strategy to support Oman’s emerging startup ecosystem and help promising companies develop their products, expand operations and build businesses capable of scaling beyond the local market.

Portfolio Overview of Omani Startups

Sooq Cars operates an automotive marketplace serving Oman and the wider Gulf. Its platform covers vehicles available from stock, vehicle imports, spare parts and leasing services. According to Cyfr Capital, the company has built a user base of more than one million.

iO Eats operates a food delivery platform supported by cloud kitchens across six locations. Customers can order from more than 30 restaurants through a single basket, bringing multiple food providers together within a delivery experience.

In tourism, Darrbak provides a discovery and booking platform focused on experiences across Oman. Its offering spans adventure, sports, nature, arts and culture, with more than 260 experiences available through a network of over 76 local providers.

Decoil operates in the artificial intelligence and data space, developing solutions that help organizations process unstructured data and turn it into actionable insights. Meanwhile, Pack’N serves businesses in the food and beverage sector with customized packaging and smart storage solutions.

Economic Impact and Future Growth

The five investments give Cyfr Capital exposure to several sectors aligned with the continued digitization and diversification of Oman's economy. Rather than focusing on a single vertical, the portfolio spans consumer technology, mobility, tourism, AI and business services, areas where changing consumer behavior and increased technology adoption could create opportunities for locally developed companies.

The funding will enable the startups to further develop their products and services and expand their operations. The investments also deepen the collaboration between Cyfr Capital and Future Fund Oman, which aims to increase access to capital for early-stage businesses in the Sultanate.

The financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. Cyfr Capital and Future Fund Oman did not reveal the individual investment amounts, total capital deployed or equity stakes acquired in the five companies.

Why It Matters to MENA

The investments highlight the growing role of Oman’s domestic venture capital ecosystem in supporting startups beyond the country's traditional economic sectors. For Oman, backing companies in areas such as AI, tourism, digital commerce and food technology supports the country's broader economic diversification ambitions.

The deal is also significant for the wider MENA startup ecosystem because early-stage capital remains critical outside the region's largest venture markets. While Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt attract substantial amounts of startup investment, smaller ecosystems such as Oman need dedicated funding mechanisms to help promising companies reach commercial scale.

The diversity of Cyfr Capital's latest portfolio also reflects a broader regional trend: startups are increasingly building technology around specific local industries and consumer behaviors, rather than simply replicating global consumer apps. If these companies successfully scale from Oman into neighboring GCC markets, the investments could demonstrate how smaller MENA markets can serve as launchpads for regional technology businesses.
