Egyptian convenience platform Breadfast launches Breadfast Food, expanding into restaurant delivery and planning to reach more governorates. The launch follows a successful beta period and allows customers to discover and order from selected restaurants directly through the Breadfast app.
The company plans to expand its restaurant partner network and roll out the service to more governorates across Egypt. This move adds restaurant delivery to Breadfast’s existing offerings, which include groceries, bakery products, coffee, and pharmacy items.

How Breadfast Food Works
The new service utilizes the company’s existing technology, delivery network, and customer base. Breadfast started by focusing on grocery and fresh-food delivery but has gradually expanded its platform to cover more of consumers’ daily needs.
With Breadfast Food, customers can access restaurant menus, offers, and discounts without switching to another app. The company said the service is designed to provide a fast and reliable delivery experience consistent with its existing operations.
The expansion also gives restaurants access to Breadfast’s customer base and delivery infrastructure. This potentially creates another channel for local food businesses to reach customers.
Strategic Vision and Growth
Muhammad Habib, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Breadfast, said the company wants customers to access groceries, meals, coffee, and personal care through one platform. He describes this as moving away from treating these as separate services.

“We simply want the easiest and most reliable way to get everything they need in their daily lives,” Habib said. He noted that the service is part of the company’s broader strategy to bring more everyday services onto its platform.
Breadfast plans to continue expanding its restaurant network and make the service available in additional Egyptian governorates. The company also expects the expansion to create hundreds of new delivery-rider jobs as demand grows.
The restaurant business gives Breadfast another way to use the logistics infrastructure it has built. However, this also puts Breadfast into a highly competitive segment where established delivery platforms already compete for customers, restaurants, and riders.
The company raised $50 million in a pre-Series C round in February 2026, with investors including SBI Investment, the International Finance Corporation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Novastar Ventures, AAIC, Olayan Financing Company, Y Combinator, and 4DX Ventures. The funding was intended to support expansion in Egypt, supply-chain infrastructure, and new business lines.
Why It Matters to MENA
Breadfast’s move reflects a broader shift among regional commerce platforms toward multi-service consumer apps. For Egypt’s digital commerce market, the launch brings another major local player into restaurant delivery.
The bigger test for the company will be whether it can turn its existing grocery and convenience infrastructure into an advantage in the crowded food-delivery market. If customers regularly use the same app for groceries, meals, and other daily needs, the company could increase engagement while making its delivery network more productive.
