Aramco Ventures co-leads Twin1 AI’s $20M seed round as the US startup develops enterprise AI digital twins for knowledge, governance and workflows.

Founded in 2025 by Dr Lewis Z. Liu, Tom Cahn, Huiting Liu, and Dr. Jonathan Budd, Twin1 AI is developing a coordination and trust layer for enterprise AI.

The company’s platform creates an AI-powered digital twin for individual professionals based on their work context, including emails, meetings, documents and workplace systems.

These digital twins make employees’ expertise accessible to AI agents while keeping individuals in control of their data and permissions.

Expanding the reach of enterprise AI digital twins

Twin1 AI’s platform integrates with workplace tools including Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive and SharePoint.

Its Twin Network allows individual digital twins to connect, identify relevant expertise and coordinate work while applying permission controls to shared information.

The company also provides an enterprise Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, allowing AI agents and enterprise applications to access governed organisational context and take actions based on that information.

Twin1 AI offers SaaS, single-tenant and private-cloud deployment options, targeting organisations where data governance, confidentiality and access controls are critical.

Funding and market growth

The company said the new funding will support the expansion of its teams in San Mateo and London, strengthen its go-to-market activities and accelerate development of its core technology.

Twin1 AI already serves customers across sectors including legal, financial services and energy, where organizations often manage large volumes of sensitive information and specialized institutional knowledge.

For Aramco Ventures, the investment provides exposure to an emerging area of AI focused on helping large organizations deploy systems while maintaining control over proprietary data and organizational knowledge.

The funding comes as enterprises increasingly deploy AI agents across business operations, creating demand for systems that can provide these agents with relevant context while enforcing permissions and governance.

Twin1 AI Infrastructure for organizational knowledge

Twin1 AI is positioning its technology as an infrastructure layer connecting employees, enterprise systems and AI agents. The company’s next phase will focus on expanding its US and UK operations, developing its technology and scaling its commercial activities.

Why Twin1 AI Matters to MENA

Enterprise AI is moving closer to the infrastructure layer. Twin1 AI is not simply building another AI productivity tool; it is targeting the harder problem of giving AI agents access to organizational knowledge without compromising privacy and governance.

For MENA, Aramco Ventures’ participation is particularly notable because it reflects continued regional investor interest in technologies that can serve large, data-intensive and highly regulated organizations.
